I just saw "The Family" last night with Robert Deniro and Michelle Pfeifer. Pretty good, cute movie. It's another quirky Deniro flick, where he's mafia... but on the outs. It wasn't anything to write home about, but I enjoyed it. Directed by Luc Besson of Leon the Professional fame (which I loved).

I also saw "Knights of Badassdom" the other night. I can't believe that movie was made with the actors that starred in it. Peter Dinklage, Summer Glau, and several others that you'll know (but I can't remember the names) were the starring roles. It's a movie about LARPing and I believe it was meant to be a B or even C rated movie, because quality wise, it was pretty terrible. lol It was, however, pretty humorous knowing what it was. You need to go in with really low expectations and you might come out of it shaking your head, possibly smirking and oddly laughing (especially if you share the experience with like-minded friends who had the same expectations).

Meet the Millers - good comedy, I enjoyed it. A few odd characters get together in order to make some illegal income, and get in a bit over their head.

It was on sale on Bluray, so I purchased Babylon 5 the complete set. Not very well done quality wise, and the plot was a good idea but their execution of it didn't really gel with me. What kept me coming back tho, til I watched the whole thing, was the character of G'Kar. Characters on tv and movies often become heroes by risking or giving their lives, but the character of G'Kar fascinated me because, while he was certainly willing to risk his life and it would have been easier for him, he sacrificed his pride over and over in order to rescue his people. A different kind of hero...

I never got into Babylon 5 when it was on, either. I'm very curious about it, because I'm a fan of J. Michael Stracynski, so I do plan on watching it. It just never looked that good to me. That's on my to-watch list, after I finally finish SGU, which I'm still struggling through. lol

I never did either and I'm a big time Sci-Fy fan. I watched Stargate Universe and liked it, I'm surprised so many did not. Off topic, my all time favorite SciFy movie is 5th Element, unlike so many who are Starwars and Star Trek fans. That said, I loved those too but 5th is hilarious.

5th Element was a great movie. Bruce Willis was very good in that. There are some aspects I like about SGU, but there's too much emo crap going on between too many people. My favorite characters are Sgt. Greer and the Commander (can't remember his name).

12 Years a Slave: We both gave it two thumbs up.

I found the vernacular a little 'Shakespearic' but maybe that's more the they way they talked back then...and we're just used to period films using 'modern' speech...

You're thinking of Star Trek Enterprise (which was very good). Colonel Young is from SGU (just looked it up). Rush is an interesting character, too, but he's hardly likeable. lol
