Hello folks,

I found the information on the bellow link EXTREMELY ACCURATE.
It had helped me treat a friends fishes.

That article also says to use Maracyn 2. It's take the right meds to go after a specific problem sometimes.

It recommends a salt + meth blue bath + lowering temp as a main treatment.
I did that and it worked just fine. I do not like medication in general, especially antibiotics. I use them as a "last resort" solution.

One method i use with great success on larger fishes, is mixing powdered antibiotics (specific for the cure) with Vaseline gel and applying this mix directly on the infected area of the fish. It is great because it delivers a concentrated dosage of antibiotics directly to the affected area of the fish, leaving the rest of the tank "antibiotics free". (Vaseline is fish-friendly gel).

There are pics of the fish on the general aquarium under a post: does anyone know what this is....take a look if you can! I didn't have anything for the fish at the time and it came on so fast..literally overnight after I QT'd them

Sorry for your fish.... From what i see on your photos, and based on the article i post earlier in this thread, this "cotton" coverage looks like SAPROLEGNIA (Fungus). It can be easy treated, if you discover the sick fish soon enough.

Thanks Deep Blue! I read through the article and yep...it certainly looked like SAPROLEGNIA! Hopefully I will not have to deal with that again, but have a bunch of medicines on hand now!!

Does anyone put salt in their aquariums on a regular basis?
