Thread: Problems with my anubias

I've been reading up on Anubias tonight and learned they grow fastest emerged from the water but if you submerge them you need to have have co2 or they will melt.
In nature they go through wet/dry periods so they are able to acclimate to different conditions but slowly.
Most Anubias only flower emerged from the water with Anubias nana the exception.

this thread's a couple months old so maybe we should move on, but I wanted to point out that this is certainly not true. Lots of people have thriving anubias with no CO2, myself included. Not sure where you read but whoever wrote it was wrong.

That quote is out of context. Plants grown emerged will melt if submerged unless there is adequate co2. I'm speculating if you were to slowly submerge them over a period of time(weeks maybe) they would have time to acclimate.

ah, I see, I misunderstood your original statement. My apologies.

The Anubias are fine. All growing new leaves. All submerged and never have had CO2. And didn't have it at the sellers. They simply went into shock from coming from someones elses water and were shipped.
