    Very interesting Cliff. Though I've used halides with PCs for ages, tempting me to try those LEDs. My corals are all large and mature, so maybe a fourth reef tank is in my future. . .

    There are some companys starting to introduce different models in a attempt to make corals look more colorfull. For example, the Radion model of LEDs made by EcoTech have some red and green LEDs in this fixture to bring out a wider range of coral colors. As most marine algaes just loves those two color tones, I'm going to wait and see if that would be a real concern with adding a small amount of those color tones before I would consider using them.

    I've never seen a comparision list yet, but there could be one out there.
    If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
