Couple things I found out today.

My Pictus in my 38g has Ick. I turned up the Temp and added Copper Meds.

I put my net in the 38g and it moved a plant and what came out my Bumble Bee Catfish. I moved it to my 10g since I added a Catfish Shark on Friday and did not want to over stock the tank. I want to put the Bumble Bee Cat back in my 38g and give the Catfish Shark to a store.
    180 Gallon:
    1-Motoro Stingray
    1- Mantilla hybrid Stingray
    1- Black Henlei/Leopoldi hybrid Stingray
    1- 14" Spotted Gar

40 gallon Breeder grow out tank:
    1- 6 Tiger Shovelnose Catfish

A pictus in a 38 gallon tank is a horrible idea, nowhere near enough swimming space. I am hoping that you are going to be providing that fish with a far larger tank in the immediate future?
    8 tanks running now:
    1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

It's only about 4" and it has not grown much in about month in a the tank. I hear it does not grow the 10" people say. It grows more like 6"-8".

Correct, I am glad you have information that is accurate as far as growth is concerned. However, the pictus cat loves to swim, and swim quickly. You need to realize that the fish will need SPACE. So, that 38 gallon tank is still too small for a pictus cat.

My pictus never swims. It always sits in his favorite spot under a Banana plant. I am getting rid of the Catfish Shark I have and putting the BumbleBee Cat back in that I found.

I would question at least superficially the health of that pic cat if it never swims. That in of itself is highly irregular behavior. Are you sure your water parameters are good? Just seems odd that such a typically active fish is not active in your tank.

I think he means Columbian shark. Pictus like the swim as said before and I have seen them over 8" a few times. All the tanks with them that larger were like 150g and larger. If you can't supply the proper area for the fish, don't get it. I know you probably want it real bad but it is just suffering in there. I has ich probably because of lack of room to swim.
