Seashells
Do you just boil them before you put them in the tank?

Yes, that should be fine. Are you trying to raise the pH?

No, I just want to add one to my tank for my corydoras to hide in or just as a decoration.

Troy, I got on and read every thread I could find about seashells about 3 weeks ago. I have oscars and a pleco. I boiled mine and placed them in the tank. So far all has gone well. My pleco needed a hiding place too and now has a large shell to get in....it has a hole in it. Hope you have good luck with yours too.
I also did the vinegar test that was mentioned in the cleaning rocks section, but none of mine bubbled. Sorry I didn't mention this earlier.Last edited by harvey; 08-13-2007 at 11:25 AM.
