The only question I have is--Don't cory cats need more? I thought I was reading somewhere that they like to be together in larger groups.

Way too full now.Are the upside down catfish the four inch full sized ones or the often mislabeled other syno catfish.(which grow to large for a 29 gallon)

Not only do corys prefer groups, but so do danios. How do you know your fish are all half their adult size? I think if you get the pleco, you will be really overdoing it.

No reason to have 6-7 species of fish in a small tank like that and no need to have 3 kinds of bottom feeders.......corys, featherfins and BN.
I would fill out your schools of danio's and call it done. You have enough in the tank already.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

You'd really be better off swapping out the upside-down cats for a couple more Cory's. Both are schooling species, best kept in groups of 5 or more, and a 29 really isn't big enough for a group of upside-down catfish.
Not to mention that they're nocturnal, and given suitable cover (they'd be badly stressed w/out it) aren't usually very visible like Cory cats.

you didn't have to get rid of the cories. about your question, i think a male betta would look really good in a tank like that. or if you wanted, you could get a group of females bettas

I think a betta would be beat down in that tank... Not a good addition imo.
