    Plans! Woohoo!

So is your daughter all excited or has this become more of a Brhino project?

I'd imagine you could actually find a use for those non-aquatics sold as aquatics type plants that grow well partially submerged. Or perhaps you could get Hobbs to send you some spider plant runners. I think I saw one of those in her jungle pictures.

At this point she mostly enjoys feeding them. She hasn't been allowed to feed the fish since she put way too much in one tank once, but she understands that the tadpoles get just one pellet, when I say so.

She keeps calling them fish. She knows that I say they'll turn into frogs but I don't think she truly comprehends how that's going to go down. I'm waiting to see what she thinks when they start growing legs.

Five weeks. Still having a heck of a time getting the camera to focus on them.

That mess between them is the remains of a food pellet. I've never actually seen them put their mouth on the food, but it does disappear and get replaced by poop, so there's that.

Their coloration seems to change. Sometimes they're light and pale, sometimes they're darker and mottled.

    Oh sad. lol

I teach 1st grade now, but I taught 3rd for a couple years, and one year I decided to order some tadpoles so we could watch them grow. We received TONS of tadpoles and frogs. Holy tadpoles, Batman! Like, 3 grown frogs (ADF), 4 or 5 tadpoles that were almost frogs, and then like 6 real tadpoles. It was CRAZY!!! My class LOVED it, but I was so ready to get rid of them after it was all said and done. That was two years ago, and I still have students pass me in the hallway to tell me the frog they took home is STILL living. They often ask me when they'll die. lol

Going to have to get the cricket, earthworm and meal worm cultures going old man, and a heat lamp and glass cover to your tank is necessary to keep the air beneath warm and humid for the frogs.

I'm an old herp keeper myself.

we've already got crickets in house for my wife's spider. Regarding heat, since they're leopard frogs that are from temperate climates, room temperature should suit them. At least... that's what I've read.
