Brhino and Daughter's Frog Adventure
NOTE: The tadpoles (and later frogs) described in the following journal were claimed to be leopard frog tadpoles by the seller, and for the first many pages of this journal they are referred to as such. However, as I later learned, these are actually bullfrogs.
For my daughter's 4th birthday, some relatives decided to get her a tadpole kit. I'm less then enthused about the unsolicited pet, but with that said we're going to do what we can to take great care of them! This journal will chronicle our adventures in frog-keeping.

We were supposedly getting two tadpoles, but three arrived. They come with a little 2 gallon plastic enclosure...

...that's cracked at the top. Fantastic. So, we've only got it 75% filled. It's not going to be their home for very long, anyhow.

Here's one of the tadpoles, distorted a little because of the bend in the corner of the acrylic.
My daughter has named the three tadpoles. They are named Brulia, Dulia, and Lulia. I'm not sure on the spelling.
In the next few posts I'll talk about the research I've done on leopard frogs and my future plans for them.Last edited by Aeonflame; 04-12-2013 at 01:34 PM.

that stinks about the crack, but its common with those things. im guessing you are going to be upgrading their tank to a 10g at least?

They'll be going into a 10g some time in the next few days... I have plenty of 10g tanks lying around.
From what I've read, as adults they need a water area and a land area. I've got mind to take a tank and silicone an acrylic divider into it to make that happen. It will depend on how the tadpoles do. If I lose one or two I may do this with a 10g tank. If all three survive, I'll probably use the old 29g I have available.300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
