Thread: 2 week cycle

    Post 2 week cycle

Using an extra bag of Ehiem substrate I always kept in my AC filter as well as an ornament from my FW tank, I cycled a 28G (fishless) in two weeks.
I used pure household ammonia and kept the ammonia level at 1 after an initial dose that brought the level of ammonia to 4 when I started. The ammonia levels had dropped to 2 after 5 days, and to 1 after a week. It took 1 week keeping ammonia at 1 for my Nitrites to disappear. Water change, fish added, levels at 0 across the board for Ammonia, Nitrates and Nitrites...And yes, new bag of substrate is in the AC for the next one...

Thanks Lady Hobbs, your sticky made this effortless...

And a perfect cycle you did. Amazing what a bit of reading can do, huh?
