I just added Rosey Barbs to our big tank tonight! I was told usually around 4".
    Very pretty tank you have!

but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree,
it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid

A 6" rosy barb is very far fetched, I have never personally seen or heard of any realistically growing more than 3-4". I have had my oldest ones for a number of years and they are around that size...highly unlikely they will get much if any larger as they have not grown a noticeable amount in a very long time. The rest of your stock are fairly low bioload, none except for the angel with grow past 4"...and even it being a domestic wont top more than 7" or so tall.

I kept wondering about the 6" size. Ok then. 3-4" is what I'm looking for I think. Will be keeping my eyes open for Rosey Barbs.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys.

Lack of planning on your part doesn't justify an emergency on my part.

Looking very nice Amy. I would put black paper on that one side of the tank facing the window, too, just to make sure outside light is kept off the tank.

    Good job girl.

I just sent you a PM, BTW.

When I use AQADVISOR I stock my tank by the suggested water change percentage unless if I'm dealing with cichlids and that's when I ask questions on here to get some suggestions on whatever species of cichlids I'm trying to keep. You do have a cichlid but a peaceful community tank one that leaves all other alone accept ita own and since u have one no worries. I try to stay below 50% suggested water change per week because to me that indicated how large a bioload my fish maybe producing. Since your tank is planted that extra filtration to what you have further controlling your nitrates. DONT B AFRAID TO STOCK YOUR TANK! lol I have 12 rainbows 4 Congo Tetras, 14 Cories(by mistake lol) and a BN plec in my lightly planted heavy filterd tank with a 60% weekly water change and my nitrates stay in control.

Thanks LH. That window blind is usually shut and the sun is only an issue in the summer. That's when I throw a towel over that end of the tank when I leave in the morning and take it of at night. Otherwise the blinds block all other light. Thanks for the PM.

Thanks Rue. Excited about having the extra room for plants and fish. Hard to believe a simple 20 gallon upgrade would make such a huge difference. I think I'd recommend staying away from a 55 gallon for anyone who wants to do live plants.

Comments about stocking are all duly noted. I will be on the lookout for some Rosey Barbs as I peruse all of the local shops.

I agree...I think eventually, I'm going to end up with just one 75 g...seems to be the most versatile size overall...that extra width is wonderful.
