Not sure what plant this or why it's turning brown

Heyy I'm having difficulties with this plant. I have a few planted in aquarium they seem to start dieing one day then the next look half decent. Not sure what the plant is or why it is dieing could use some help. Thanks

Im pretty sure that its not aquatic,thus the browning.

Really? The pet store sold it to me as aquatic. Any idea what type of plant it is?

Yes, agreed that it looks like Mondo grass which is definitely not aquatic.
8 tanks running now:
1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

It really does look like mondo grass however. I took one of the plants out and it simply dried up rather quickly and doesn't look to healthy at all.
