Ok, thanks for the input. I have tried giving them Hikari Carnivore pellets, but they did not seem to like those. I will get some that you recomended. They always seem to be picking at the java moss and my anacharis that is literally growing a foot a week. An air stone is definitely on my list for this weekend then. The aquarium is becoming a forest with all the plants, but Cherry shrimp like that kind of stuff.

So I purchased an air pump and stone which is working fine. My concern is the shrimp though. When I siphoned some water, I got two more dead. If I have been counting correctly, that means I have 3 left. Is it possible for them to even start a colony? Or should I buy some more off of Ebay? Plus what if they are all females...I can't tell.

IIRC the more extremely red ones are the females, The males are more pale/translucent.

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

Beebz I'm sorry to read your down to three shrimp at the present time and I know if your anything like me your first impluse is to go get another 12-20 to keep the colony alive.
That said, why not wait and see if the ones you have left are going to stay alive for a week first before adding more?

If after a week the survivors are doing what they should be doing, do a water change and then go get some more.
Just a suggestion from someone who had to start over himself.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

Sadly, I am down to 2 shrimp. I dont know what I did wrong. I checked the parameters and all were good. Any ideas for something interesting in a 5 gallon tank? I guess shrimp arent the thing for me.

    Guppies?
    Small fish?
    Snails?

    Ideas are much needed!

    Micro-fish FTW!

Disclaimer: I have not purchased from there it's just a decent number of species for you to research to see what suits you.

    Also search 'Micro-rasbora'

Maybe one or two mini moth catfish would be good. It is awfully hard to find info on them tough. Any ideas of what they like/ how they breed?
