I've had an issue keeping dwarf baby tears. I like the plant but I haven't found out how to keep them healthy.

I hope you have better luck. I'm sure it has to do with the amount of lighting I was able to supply.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

Well the 5 gallon tank is not very tall and the light is brigt. So it may work with that set up. I am going to get my shrimp from http://www.ebay.com/itm/WOW-12-LIVE-...83504990685820 . Do those shrimp look like the normal RCS? Or should I buy them from here.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-RED-CHERR...item415ea04372

I would check on plantedtank.net forum, in the swap in shop section. People there will often sell 20 red chery shrimp for around $20-25 shipped. Thats the price I normally sell at too, at the moment though I need to let my colony rebuild.

I am thinking about trying to do the fishless cycle on this tank. Can I take a filter cartridge from my 20 gallon tank to get it started?

If you do that, you can just add the shrimp. They have a very low bio-load and should pose no problems. But I would order them before it gets an colder.

Yea, it is getting colder and colder in Michigan. My tank kit also came with Nutrafin Cycle so I will use that a couple days ahead of the shrimp.

Here is some Java Moss attached to a pice of driftwood. In the background there will be a walll of Anacharis, and near the front will be patches of Dwarf Baby Tears. Those plants will arrive within the next couple of days.

Bit of an unplesant suprise today. Got home and found out that the shrimp came before the plants. So I put them in just a minute ago with only some Java Moss and a piece of driftwood. Also, I was planning on putting bacteria into the water, I guess that I will be doing that with them in.
