Depends. If I had a school, I wouldn't bother naming them all, but for a few individuals, why not. :) I liked having fish named Butch and Sundance.

I only have one fish with a name my Giant Red Tail Gourami Thor
I don't name schoolers, but I named my honey gourami since he is the only one in the tank and is the only one with a personality.
I definitely name my fish.
I can tell them all apart, with the exception of a few of the Glowlight tetras.
