  1. Default opinions on test kits

Im just interested to hear peoples responses on different nitrite and ammonia test kits?
This came to mind today at uni in my practical lecture, for my home aquarium i use the api liquid test kits and they are very easy with only two chemicals to add for ammonia and only one for nitrite, but today in the aquaculture centre we used the Tetra liquid test kits and they were so much more hassle with 3 chemicals for ammonia and 2 chemicals for the nitrite.

Im just curious as to which test kits the AC users are most keen on and which ones seem to be the easiest and most accurate?

    Any comments are welcome :)

I use api in my fw tanks for all but the nitrate which has proven totally inaccurate for my water.I favor elos or seachem for the sw tank.

ive never heard of the elos brand, is it an american brand? and ive not seen seachem stuff in my LFS but ive noticed it come up in discussions quite regularly on here, again tht mite be an american brand aswell??

  4. Default

I have no idea where seachem is made,I think elos is french but I dont hold that against them

I use API test kits for my tank

I think that is the most common brand used

I use Salifert test kits, they seem to be some of the most accurate for the money.
