Yes and no, I have a bunch of guppies, mollies, swordfish and two gouramis that I MUST incorporate into this aquariums stocking, I can't give them away because they have become a part of the family.

My dad wants to have cherry shrimp too.

I'm more than open to any suggestions!

BTW this aquarium WILL be planted, I've been drooling over planted tanks for long enough!

Finally! I can now actually update my thread!

When I bought my aquarium an Eheim Professional 2 was given to me as an extra for free. I was told by the seller that it was leaking between where the pump housing (lid) connects to the canister. I tried it out in the exact same condition (but cleaned the canister so that I would be able to see water streaks or drops) I let it run for 5 days in a bucket and it was dry as it could be!

My dad got around to making and painting the stand reinforcement for me and here it is: The way it works is that it fits over the existing stand like a double sided skirt. One side is made to fit the stand EXACTLY and the other is made to fit the bottom of the aquarium EXACTLY.

PS i'm still open to stocking suggestions

I too got one of those Powerhead's second hand (see link). I think yours is missing a flange (not sure what it's called) on the output end that diverts water downward. A little air tube also adds oxygen to the mix. The previous guy with mine had the intake nestled in the top of the clear plastic tube that comes up one side of a Under Gravel Filtration unit. It rested with the top (where the wire goes into the unit) out of the water). So I am not completely certain it is submersible. But I may be wrong!!

Thanks, I ran the powerheads (I have two) and they worked fine, but I had to give the impeller a kickstart. After that they worked just fine. I'm just going to need them to push around water. Yes, you are correct, one of my power heads is missing the diverter for the output. It works just fine without it.

BTW: It is submersible. I tested them fully submerged and they worked fine.

Ok, I think I have a stock that I think will be in stone if approved:

    Bosemani Rainbows(2)
    Neon Tetras(7)
    Guppies(8)
    RCS(4-5)
    Platies(4)
    Swordtails(6)
    Glo Fish(3)

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Any reply is appreciated, Thanks

Congrats on the tank, looking good!

Just one thought. GloFish, like all danios, prefer to be in schools of 6 or more.

Nice size tank! The only advice I can give you (b/c I am semi new here) is rainbow fish like to be in bigger #'s since they school. Other than that I can't wait till its up and running and we see more pics!
