He was a cute little thing. I have questions for you on this cardinal and there needs. I have two pajama cardinals now and I am thinking about adding a bangaii cardinal or two in the future. I've tried looking up there needs as far as schooling so I can get the right mixture and I haven't found conclusive evidence on anything. If I have two PJ cardinals now, could I just get one or would two be better? I wouldn't want to put three in there. Since we are on the topic, I want to pick your brain a little bit. How and what do you feed them? and how often? The reason I ask is, I feed them a mix of pellets and brine shrimp but with the rock being so porous I have to take my time with the pellets so I don't create waste. Maybe a dumb question but I want to learn the tricks of the trade

I don’t know a lot about pajama cardinals so I can really comment on them. Bangaii cardinals can behave a lot like fresh water angel fish. I started with 3 of them until two paired off and the male in this pair started harassing the third bangaii. I rehomed him in my other tank leaving the mated pair in my tank. The problem is that they are almost impossible for the average hobbyist ( and so called experts) to accuracy identify their sex, even when fully grown. My pair has spawned many times since then, about once every two months. None of the fry have made it so far due to the rest of my stocking in the tank.
I feed my bangaiis NLS flakes and Mysis shrimp every 3rd or 4th day. They are very active at night. Its very interesting to watch them at night when they hunt for pods in the tankIf you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Mine won't eat flake or pellets. Frozen is all he'll take.

I thought, since they were from the same family, that they would hang out together, for lack of better words. you really only feed them every 3 days?

No, I feed mine fish every day. They get feed NLS marine flakes. Every third or forth day I feed them mysis shrimp for a change. Sorry if I was not too clear on that before.
