    Default Banggai Cardinal Fry

    0 Not allowed!
I got a big surprise this morning when I got up and went to work. While checking out the tank before heading out to work this morning I noticed a single Bangaii Cardinal fry hanging out by the powerhead

I guess that explains the odd behavior a few weeks ago when one of the parents was acting odd. That must have been the male holding the fry.

I was not expecting them to spawn at all.

So far the wife and I only noticed this little fry

Hopefully, if they spawn again I will be able to notice the signs and remove the fry to my QT tank to give them a better chance

In the below pic, he/she is just above the base of the powerhead a little to the left

The this pic he/she is just above the powerhead about 2"

Sorry for the low quality pics. I had to quickly use my cell phone before this little guy swam away

Congratulations Cliff, having the cardinal fish spawn in your tank. Being mouthbrooders, cardinal fish are by far the easiest marine fish to captive raise, but having an unanticipated breeding in your tank is a true testament to your marine aquarium keeping talent.
