  1. Cool Thought this was cool (Drip Acclimator Method)

I just purchased some rainbowfish from my lfs and let me tell you how cool this place is even tho the fish where 18 a pop. The owner cares about his fish and not sales . No need to QT any fish from this store as these fish have been bred and living in these tanks for months to years. If you seen the store you would understand because the store is more like a basement with about a hundred tanks all planted and well kept but back to the topic. I purchased my fish and before i left he asked me do you have one of my drippers? i said no and he said let me make you one before you go and this is what he did he drilled a hole in the bottom of a SF giants cup and put a tube thing in it and all youdo is fill the cup up and it drips. Heres the PIcs. Let me know if you think he should patent this.

This is now how i acclimate my fish i would just add cups every 15 to 30 mins

What i do now is i put the fish in my bucket match their volume of water they came with with my tank water and then fill her up and let them be it takes about a good 30 mins to empty maybe more and then their good to go.

I use this same method using an airline and a valve. I stick the airline with a cheapy valve on the end into the tank. Start a siphon then use the valve to adjust flow to where I like it.

I drip mine from the tank water, be it moving from QT to community or moving from new fish to QT. I use an airline and a valve, your guys cup method allows the water to chill to room temp so its not really doing much but drop the temp BUT it will still help get the fish used to your water just not the temp.

any drip method chills the water to room temp really if your doing it long enough. what i do is i match the water volume the fish came in with my tank water and then some so like a cup or two more then fill the cup up with my tank water and let it drip for the remainder of the acclimation. Its not perfect nor is it text book i just used it yesterday and thought it was creative. i use the cup method of drip acclimating adding a few cups of tank water every 15 mins up to a hour max always workes for me.

Cool enough if you use the drip method.
