  1. Default PH neutralizers ... what do you think of them?

    http://www.petco.com/product/4064/AP...onersAdditives
Just curious... what do you think of things like these? Are they safe, good, bad, what?
And would you just plop them in without testing just because you wanted to keep tanks 'neutral'? (by the way I didn't do this...)

Just for the heck of it -- what is neutral? I thought it was 7.0 and this thing says it takes it to 8.2

  2. Default

The picture of the product and the description of the product do not match. 7.0 is a neutral pH. The description of the product raises the pH for fish that prefer higher pH like African Cichlids. Unless you are keeping specialized aquarium that require a different pH they really aren't necessary, and there are better methods out there to raise and lower pH anyway

  3. Default

yeah now I've used an actual neutrlizer one that took straight to 7.0. thats why i was confused. So if it was an ACTUAL 7.0 neutrlizer.. what do you think of them? would you use for every wc

Just leave it alone don't mess with it. Those things are not very good. Stable is better. I used to used them as a beginner who didnt know any better. But they are no good.
