i might go that route eventually, also when im doing my mbuna tank i want to be able to treat my water going in b4 it hits the tank.
Provided you are draining downhill it is entirely gravity powered & There's absolutely no need to leave the water running while draining the tank & therefore no waste.

I do it this way every time & as long as you add dechlor & turn the filters off before you fill it there's no way for the new water to reach your BB.
