No im not using an air stone at the base. I didnt have one to test with so im not sure how well it will work. I used a stiff peice of airline and used a lighter and heated it then bent it into a J. Closed the short end off by filling it up with hot glue. Then drilled a few tiny holes in the top. The long part of the J went out the intake at the bottom for hookup to tge airpump.

Might help make things more even, just a thought. It seems to kunda gurgle in spurts.

Even then without an airstone its still gonna be a fe large bubbles at once. Give it a go, they are cheap!

Unfortunatly I cant modify it now the air source has to be glued down in the intake and no way to get to it now. The larger bubbles u see comming out the top is from all the air collecting and comming out at once at top. I have much smaller bubbles at the bottom.
