    Default jewel cichlids

    out of sheer curiosity does any one know if juvenile jewel cichlids are tan just wondering because my jewel i got 4 days ago is tan it has those glowing spots and has some red around the fins

    Ive seen my jewels change their color from very light to very dark.

    Any cichlid will change their colors/patterns according to a number of different variables from mood to temperature or even substrate/background color. Jewels show the intense red when they're in breeding dress, not nearly as colorful otherwise.
