Do moss balls grow like weeds like other mosses? If not we will give them a try. but if they do grow like weeds I don't want to attempt them. The java moss we have in the 55 gallon is a mess, lol. It stuck to everything. Thank you for the suggestion.

I just looked at the tracking number on the eco-complete and it looks like it will be here this afternoon so hopefully we will be setting it up tonight.
The ge bulbs came in last night and they are twice as bring as the stock bulbs on the fixture. Thank you for the great suggestion

We also ordered an odyessa light for our 75 gallon goldfish tank and it will be in today as well. We needed the pc bulbs for the fixture on the goldfish tank, which were $30 each, so we decided to buy a new 2 bulb t-5 fixture for only $60 shipped, so if the 29 gallon planted is successful then we will plant the goldfish tank as well

The switch went great, although we had corries then we thought...We took pictures but haven't had time to upload them yet, but will be doing so at some point this weekend. We're going plant shopping tomorrow

My understanding is that moss balls are very slow-growing (about an inch a year in diameter is what I read). I was thinking of getting a couple but haven't yet, so I'm just passing on secondhand info.

I love java moss. I keep it trimmed and under control though *L*

Moss really needs to be attacked to something and kept constantly trimmed...or it does make an unruly mess. Moss balls are actually a form of filamentous algae which grows in a fairly attractive ball shape. It does not cause algae outbreaks and can be benefitial as they do infact act as nitrate and phosphate sponges. Think of them as the FW chaeto

Cool, we will see if we can get a few moss balls.

    Here are some pictures

Here are the plants we saved from the 55, a few amazon swords, several annubis, 1 small crypt and a few annarchis

Added the driftwood and leveled the stand

    Filling

    Full

The whole process took about 2 hours and surprisingly the tank stayed clear,

Now the fun task of choosing plants and where to put them. For now the plants are in temporary positions, and half the annubis will eventually in up in our goldfish tank. We're headed to petco today for a few plants and a few more fish to round out the schools

I see that you have Aqueon Quiet Flow filters. I have 2 of them on my 29g. I like them but I redid the filter media. Basically I took out the cartredge and put pillow batting in and Fluval Biomax. It is much better. I like the filters because they are cheep, quiet and self priming.

    Tank looks good btw
Lots of tanks. Some tanks are planted. Fish include community and bettas.
2 Dachshunds. Angel (Red) and Cookie (Chocolate Dapple).
Shiny Things and Beauty the rabbits.
RIP Princess and Max the Dachshunds, Tiger and Ping Pong the rabbits, and all the fishes from when I was a newbie.

    Thank you

Those filters are great. They are a little noisy for us, but only because I'm keeping the water down an inch until we a done messing with the plants. Once I fill the tank it should quiet down. I have 2 of the factory cartridges (1 was seeded in the 55 and the other is new) in one of them along with filter floss and the 2nd one has filter floss with bio-mex from the 55 gallon.

Here's what were thinking for the rest of the fish stocking

7 more serpas for a total of 10, 7 more corries for a total of 10, and 11 neons for a total of 12. I originally thought that the previous neons were eaten by the angel, but I think they just died due to bad breeding. I'll just make sure to get larger ones. The angel is just not big enough to eat them and he's not aggressive at all
