Male or Female Boesemani Rainbowfish?
Sorry for the blurry photos, little guy never stays still. 90% sure he's male but he is our first boesemani. About 1.75 inches right now.

looks like you've got a dyed white skirt tetra in there, too. You might want to read up on dyed fish:
http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...ad.php?t=11383300 gallon mega tank: build in progress
75 gallon community tank: tetras, danios, corys, platies, otos, pearl gouramis, bristlenose pleco, assassin snails, red cherry shrimp, bamboo shrimp
70 gallon growout tank: clown loaches, sailfin pleco
60 gallon goldfish tank: fancy goldfish
29 gallon frog tank / 10 gallon tadpole tank: 1 leopard frog, 1 tadpole
10 gallon and 5.5 gallon betta tanks: 1 male betta each, sometimes snails

It's true. The pair of them are actually some of the oldest fish in the tank. Guy at the store told us they were natural and we found out when we got home and looked them up. They are healthy and happy though, so they got that going for them.

Don't buy dyed anymore tho as the stores will keep ordering and selling them and we want them out of the US.
Your boesemani is a male. They are social fish and should be with more of their own. Looks like you are picking out one of everything when all should have their own species with them.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••

Don't worry, was a long time ago before we knew much about fish, very much agree not to buy altered fish. He has made pals with our f/m dwarf rainbows and they play most of the day in the powerhead. Wanted to see how he did and make sure he was male before getting another. Don't let the picture fool you, those are just a couple of the 26 fish in our 75gal.
