For a broken 10g, I'd say just replace it. Can pick a 10g from walmart for $12 or so. If you wanted to fix the 10g, you'd have remove the trim pieces, remove the broken glass, cut new glass to replace it with, scrape the old silicone off seams, rub alcohol on the glass so new silicone can adhere properly, put on the new silicone, put the trim back on.

A lot of work and time for a 10g, plus the new glass + silicone will probably cost you more than a new 10g would cost.

I agree, you will spend much more than $10-12 (the cost of a 10g) on supplies and or having the glass cut. You'll need two new trim pieces, and the right silicone and that right there is probably more than 12 bucks.

Wow, if a 10g was worth $50 here, then I would attempt to fix it for sure.

You know for $50, if I was patient and waited a few weeks, I could probably pick up a used 55g aquarium off of a craigslist posting. Might even get the hood and filter with it too:p

If you can get cheap glass cut to size, could be a fun project just for the experience and something to do.
