boesemani rainbow eggs
I have raised platy and firemouth. There is a breeder on aquabids that sells the mops with about 50 eggs. He will send enough powdered food that will feed them until they're ready to eat finely crushed flakes.
They will be raised in a 10g tank. Is the requirements for raising these fish any different from the previous fish that i have raised?

Rainbows grow *VERY* slow. I would buy juvies of 1" or so personally. I bought an auction of 3/4-1" juvies last year and the fish are just now about 3" a year later. It would take 2 years to grow out eggs to a decent sized adult fish. It is no wonder rainbows are pricy, but this would be a good way to make a good profit on your investment if you were willing to wait that long to grow them out.

I bought my turquoise thru aquabid but didn't buy the eggs. Like Jenn said, they are ridiculously tiny and slow growing. When the eggs hatch, the fish come to the surface and you can hardly see them.
Very annoying to wait so long to have real fish. I think I'd buy a couple pair at the fish store.Cycling With Fish?•• The Fishless Cycle••
