    regular silicone will not always bond with 'liquid rubber' and/or paint. you're going to want to use an adhesive silicone like 3M5200 (the best IMO). look for "adhesive silicone for potable use".

    I have been researching a nice big build for the past few years. it would great if you kept us updated and started a journal of your build.

    Years ago I helped a friend of mine paint the hull of his wooden boat and the paint he used was a marine epoxy that was in three parts, two were 50/50 mix and the third was a tint to get the color you wanted.

    Marine paint is not a very hard drying substance so there is no risk of chipping. You will need to use a few coats. Marine epoxy is also another good option

    You need to be careful with marine products. Make sure there are no "surprises" in it. Make sure it's not bottom paint that contains chemicals to ward off barnacles and algae in a marine environment.

    The marine epoxy products I have in mind are typically inert when dry. There are also rubberized sealants you could look into.

    Gonna check with marinas around here what they would recommend the people at canadian tire have no idea what there talking about lol

    So it is about 100 bucks a can for the paintX.X Tanks on hold for now until I get some more money!
