Gouramis do just fine when kept buy themselves. We need to know how many gallons this tank is, the filtration that you have and your readings for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate.
Lots of tanks. Some tanks are planted. Fish include community and bettas.
2 Dachshunds. Angel (Red) and Cookie (Chocolate Dapple).
Shiny Things and Beauty the rabbits.
RIP Princess and Max the Dachshunds, Tiger and Ping Pong the rabbits, and all the fishes from when I was a newbie.

My tank is 55 gallons and I have 2 60 gallon powerfilters on it. My ammonia because of the recent addition of fish is less than one parts per million but not zero. My nitrites are zero and my nitrates are 10 to 15

What type of pleco is it? If it is a common pleco it will outgrow that tank way to fast. If it is a Brestlenose Pleco or a Rubber Lip Pleco then you should be fine. You should never let you Ammonia get above .25ppm. 1ppm will probably kill your fish. If your water is reading above .25ppm for Ammonia I would recomend a large WC with water conditioner.
I think that if the above checks out you should be fine to keep the Gourami. Just be careful about the Tiger Barbs. They are fin nippers.Lots of tanks. Some tanks are planted. Fish include community and bettas.
