Euthanasia?

How should I euthanize my molly? I don't have clove oil, I don't have anything to have him OD on, and I definitely don't want to bludgeon him to death. What's the nicest way to kill him? Thanks.

I would get a big bowl of ice water ready, then net out the fish and get in the ice water fast. The shock of the temp change will likely do the trick, although I think I would put it in the freezer for an hour or so just to be sure.

The nicest way is the fastest way.I net them out,place them in a paper towell then squash quickly.

Maybe my dad will kill it for me. Thanks for your suggestions. The poor guy has pop eye and has been twirling around thank for the past few days.

I agree ice water/freezer is a good option if you dont have clove oil.

Cutting the head off with one clean slice is also widely accepted as humane but its a little hands on for most people. I guess if its a small one squishing it is just as effective too.

Sorry to hear about this. My wife has had an experience with a faulty Tank heater, which took out her fish instantly. But I wouldn't suggest electrocution for painless. The Squish method would be horrid to me... couldn't imagine. Freezing Ice Water might be the most humane.

I recommend freezing cold water in the freezer, then dropping the fish in to cause the temp shock.
