Catfish identification?
Hey guys, was wondering if i could get some help identifying a catfish my buddy just gave me. I think hes a bit too big for my 20 gallon so i don't think he'll be staying too long. anyways here's a picture

That is a pimelodus pictus or maculatus catfish from south america.Needs good high filtered water and could swallow small fish.

Thanks for the quick response. I actually have two filters in my 20 gal so filtration should be good but i am trying to find a better suited home for him

thanks yeah it definitely looks like a Pimelodus maculatus. Thanks for the help. any ideas on what kind of environment this guy likes?

definitely a pim catfish. could be pim. blochii aka 4-line catfish also. they get about 9" and are small predatory cats. they are territorial and like to hang out under logs and such.

it's definitely NOT a type of blue or channel cat. it's a south american pim of some sort.
