bacteria in secondhand tank????
hey, a few months ago (january i think) i bought a secondhand 29g off of kijiji, and ive had to drain it and start again at least 5 times. i moved each of the fish into an empty 10g i had, and began again. i completed the cycle, and still had problems.
when i bought the tank, it was really dirty, you couldnt see the the back wall, and it was just discusting. i got home with it, and cleaned it really well with pure viniger, and then rinsed it really well, then let it sit for a few hours.
What my questions is, is that could there have been any bacteria that survived the viniger, and is that what is causing all of the problems?-to ask a question, and question its answer, or to not ask, for the answer is waiting for you to find?
65 g freshwater- 6 oto cats, 5 mollies, 5 platys, 10 guppys, 11 diamond tetras, 8 rummynose tetras, 8 glowlight tetras, and maybe a mystery snail5g betta tanks, and fry tanks

I strongly doubt any bacteria survived.
8 tanks running now:
1x 220 gallon, 2x55 gallon, 1x40 gallon long, 1x29 gallon, 1x20 gallon long, 1x5.5 gallon, 1x2 gallon
Gouramis, barbs, rasboras, plecos, corys, tetras, fancy guppies, swordtails, ottos, rainbow shark, upside-down catfish, snails, and Max and Sparkles the bettas.

What kind of problems were you having with it?
54 gallon corner tank:
6 gold barbs, 6 zebra danios, 1 pearl gourami, 4 ornate rainbows, 1 boesmani rainbow. Eheim 2215 cannister.
