I was wondering what other fish you'd suggest to put with a betta. I'm kinda tired of the zebra danios but don't know what else they'll get along with.

It's a ten gallon. I was thinking of a dwarf gourami but I read somewhere that the two aren't good together and will fight. Don't know if that's true though.

There's some compatibility charts in the "Tank Setup" section, those are really helpful. But Troy's right, depends on what size tank first.

No on the gouramis. Ive heard many a horror story of the two duking it out.

I dont know much about hatchets, but i know bettas are extremely picky with their tankmates.

Your best bet would be 3-5 corydoras, and 2-3 mysterysnails, or 3 oto cats with mystery snails.
Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can pay the rent.

Actually, I've had a snail with a betta before (long time ago, don't remember what kind of snail) and the betta ate it. Although it could have died and then the betta started eating.......not quite sure about that.
