  1. Unhappy i think my gourami has dwarf gourami iridovirus disease

    it is very fat and balloon looking i have some pics they arent the best though. if it is dwarf gourami iridovirus disease what is the best course of action?

    I know little of iridovirus disease other than it's a virus that can take almost a year to kill the fish. But as far as I know, the fish simply wastes away like neon tetra disease, not bloat up.

    Your fish looks like it either may have internal worms, constipated or has bloat.

    Fiber and less protein is more likely the cure. Gouramis are omnivores and dwarf gouramis can be gluttons.
    Offer it peas for a few days with very little other foods.

    I'm hoping the peas help I would hate to lose the little guy. I offered him some today but he just allowed it to sink to the bottom, didnt even try to eat it.

    Keep offering vegies. It's probably not all that hungry yet.
