Some Progress!!!(clips on fx5)
I'm not using the 5.5g as an experiment tank, I'm using my 29. I'm pretty comfortable with plants already but not co2 or alot of lighting. So 5.5g-nothing really, I put in an extreme amount of fish food and I'm observing it decay. It's like cotton with little pieces trapped in it.2.5g -terrarium 29g experiment with plants, need better filter (going to get ac70) lighting and co2. I'll be ready to do plants in the 120g. 120g- what you've been waiting for!!
My dad got around to cutting the clips so they fit the tank!!! Yay!!! So I need to:
-set up fx5
-move tank to final spot
-make sure the tank is level
-get co2 equipment
- get plants
-have a happy tank.
I have been waiting since October-November 2010(oct. And nov. Meant for Planning)

I don't know what I'm gonna do. I have two options
-high tech planted tank with pressurized co2, the lights, eco-complete, Tahitian moon sand, ei dosing(blyxa japonica!!!yay!!!)
- medium-low tech planted no co2, the lights I have (1 running but a small burst with the other one maybe), Eco-complete, Tahitian moon sand, liquid ferts (maybe seachem flourish excel) I have the option to go full (co2) or the option after a long time to go with cliffs 90g freshwater type stocking, I still love that. I could have just my 29g as a planted.
I can't decide. My problem: I'm upsessed with the way cliffs tank island eventually want one very similar (aka severums) and i like plants. BUT severums+plants= disaster.
So high tech planted or option 2?
(I won't have to deal with co2 for the 2nd, but I love heavily planted tanks)

Not ever doing plants in my tank, I would think that they are a pain in the but. I would go with low tech and low cost. Especially since your parents are paying for this. It can add up really quickly so don't go overboard. Start out easy and slow, then after a while you can go high tech if you feel like you need to or want to. But wait a while and get comfortable with your tank. When you grow up you might not have a ton of $ to spend on tanks and you will want to know that you can have a nice looking tank w/o spending a ton of $.
Just my $0.02 worth. Keep it in mind though.Lots of tanks. Some tanks are planted. Fish include community and bettas.
2 Dachshunds. Angel (Red) and Cookie (Chocolate Dapple).
Shiny Things and Beauty the rabbits.
RIP Princess and Max the Dachshunds, Tiger and Ping Pong the rabbits, and all the fishes from when I was a newbie.
It is Ldoerr NOT Idoerr.
Black kitten named Midnight that was found 10/29/12

Yeah I know I'm going the 2nd option. I need to rethink what plants I'm getting now.
I don't think plants are that much of a pain in the butt. I love going downstairs in the morning and then going back down later and notice my water sprite grew.
-some time of ludwigia
-some type of sword plant
-some type of moss
Not sure what else and even if these plants are fine together.
20 harlequin rasboras
10 cories(??? Type)
1 bn pleco(maybe another type)
1 angelfish(most likely not angie anymore)
???type of Schooling fish
Ps. The experiment tank(for plants) is the 29g
I have had problems with the dw I bought, I need to test every piece ugh

No experiment tank.
I reaquascaped and like the new one the best.I'll take some pics. I want rotala indica, And some of the list in the above post. I probably get 1-3 amazon swords, a type of vallisnera, moss, java fern, water sprite, there was some more but I forgot. I think there was a myriophyllum species but it's in an invasive species, so there was another type that would work. Still need to hook up the fx5, add Eco complete cut the acrylic top(neighbor will cut it), yeah still some work.
Pics coming soon if my mom could get the computer to work.(I'm on my iPad, she brought her work computer because my sister broke the computer we normally use)

Ignore the reflection. Just went swimming. Hey, why would you want a 6-pack if you can have a big Mac?
One more, again ignore the reflection.

I just noticed I took that picture with my pinky up
Anyway it looks alot better in person. I think I'm going to push the dw back a bit to give more depth.
What do ya think?

Hopefully that doesn't go like the above
Ps. The album has mixed pics the 29g after water sprite growth, and the 120g. Also angie is in there;-)

Just set up the fx5 with my dad.
Not gonna test the driftwood.
Sorry about before. I have no clue what happened
I was doing something(I don't remember) in the tank and I hit a piece of dw pretty hard and one thing fell off. I thought it would be a good idea to push everything back and it fell apart in the process. I will try to make something similar again.
Broke a leg on a light. Still stands with the broken leg, just gotta be careful.
To do list
-aquascape dw again
-Eco complete in tank
-finish stocking ideas
Hope I didn't forget everything.
Oh yeah here's a plant list, still needs work and research on the plants requirements.
Amazon sword plant
Oh forgot, need fishing line
Well that's pretty much it. Today I get to go to the movies and see harry potter '8'(lol) the second time.

Were checking to see if it's level. Then we are going to start filling part of the way. Got an air pump to keep the water agitated when the filters can't. I want to keep the water fairly low so I'm not aquascaping with plants in a tank full of water. now I know there has never been any quick progress or anything, but it's starting to come closer and closer to the finish.

We fixed it with mr. O.
We have to cut the pieces of wood and paint them.
The paint will probably take a while to dry off.
Probably won't have time to start filling it.
