    Default Need fish Identified (bad photo)

    Can anyone id this fish for me?

    Im almost certain its an acara, but it doesnt quite look like either a blue or a port




    For reference, this is my port acara



    And this is my blue acara

    If it has peachish red around the lower gill plate/throat area then it is a saddled acara(Aequidens tetramerus)or it could be a aequidens patricki or rondoni.

    Sorry Aeonflame, but I don't know what that fish could be

    I just wanted to say your acaras look great.

    They are among my favorite fish.
    If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

    How big is the fish? That looks like the baby blue acara's I always see at the LFS.
    FW: 1 45gal, 1 40gal, 3 10gal, 3 30gal all community tanks of different species
    Sw: 1 55gal, 1 30gal show, 1 29gal show, 1 20gal and 2 10's

    I am 95% sure that this is the port/brown Acara other wise known as the Cichlasoma portalegrensis.

    Ive kept many port acaras, from fry to adulthood, but Ive never seen any with that iridescent green coloration
