That's another case of alien water abduction. Make sure your clocks are still reading correctly, lost time and dust bunnys turning to angelfish are another sure sign of too much air in your tires causing your ice cream to have bones
Or its just simple evaporation if you believe in what capt obvious says.

Yep sounds like evaporation most likely. And less likely maybe a slow leak? May want to check around the floor where tank is.
I have glass lids on most of my tanks now, that really helped cut down on the water lost due to evaporation. It did however bring up the temperature of the tanks in summer which isn't a good thing. In winter it is nice since it helps hold the heat in.

You might want to check your KH and see if it is going up - that large evaporation can concentrate minerals fast and unless you are doing large water changes, that will tend to cause the KH to go up (slowly for large WC.)
Just a though if you are losing water that fast due to evaporation.Knowledge is fun(damental)

It's surprising how fast it can evaporate too. My closed top SW tank needs topping off once or twice a week, just a little. My open SW frag tank that I had needed considerable topping off daily.
But make sure you check for leaks too, just to be sure....Last edited by Rue; 05-08-2011 at 02:32 PM.
