Suggestion for food?
My LFS (a Petsmart) has a limited cichlid food selection, so I ended up getting a bag of mini-sized Aqueon Cichlid Pellets when I got my oscar. But now tht I have a bit of money left over from bills, I want to buy my oscar (Marlowe Morky) some better quality food (online, so I have a practically unlimited selection). What do you all recommend? I was considering Hikari brand stuff, not sure if the Cichlid Staple is good, or the Gold/Bio-Gold+. I heard their betta food quality has dropped, and Omega One is better; how does their cichlid stuff stack up? Any other brands I should consider?
Also, Marlowe likes to look up as I feed him, and he gulps air with his pellets. I know this can cause swim bladder problems with goldfish, can the same happen with oscars so that I should get a sinking pellet food so he doesn't gulp so much?

I only feed and recommend New Life Spectrum. This is by far the best food out there right now IME. IME it is at least a step above Hikari, Omega One, Ocean Nutrition, etc.

Is there really a difference among the Hikari gold and such then, or is the staple pretty good if I do give him goodies like the ones you mentioned every once in a while?

Oops, I posted too soon! Why is New Life Spectrum good? Does it have better quality ingredints (which I would splurge for even if it was pricier), or is the mix more nutritionally complete?

NLS is a complete and balanced diet, no need for supplementation, variety, etc. It has higher quality ingredients than anything else out there.
