  1. Default Combining two tanks?

    0 Not allowed!
I was wondering how to unseal aquariums ... I was thinking of unsealing the long side of two ten gallons and sealing them back together as a 20 gallon. Also how should I handle the plastic? Also this does not need to hold water I just need to to stay together. I was debating taking off all the plastic

Forget it. It makes no sense honestly. You can pick up a 20 gallon for next to nothing. Just how would you go about fixing that gap between the bottom glass?

    Hmm... Really?

What you are thinking is a complete waste of time. Buy a used tank the right size.

A 20 Long is similar to the dimensions you are trying to achieve.

    +1 Just buy it.

Yeah, really not worth it . Buy a 20 long or if you really need exact dimensions, get some glass cut of the right width and start from scratch. You're just causing more hassle and wasting more money by trying to accomplish that.

I am with everyone above me. Petco even has a 1$ per gallon sale most holidays that you could take advantage of. Take the DIY time and build a hood, stand, decorations, ect.. But 20 Gallons of water is not something you want flooding any amount of space inside your home/apartment.

If its for a hampster it should work fine however like posted above you will have an unsightly seem down the center of your tank and the cost of the caulk will be a significant fraction of the 25-35$ cost of just buying a 20 gallon tank.

this thread is the perfect example of the thread I made in the thoughts and suggestions area and why there should be a better way to archive..You can't expect every member to use all the exact same setting for viewing threads.
