I was rearranging my 27g and I found some java fern and some of the moss ball I bought about 5 years ago. Just to show how resilient they are, that tank has not had any natural light or anything more than the fluorescent strip light in 2 years (which was off more that half the time). I thought for sure that all the live plants were long gone. I got a grow bulb a few weeks ago and low and behold there was some plants still alive.
