I saw all your pictures. Very good photography skills! But, on the picture you posted that had the orange pigeon discus, is it supposed to have black sports on its body? Because i have one that looks the exact same but with more black on her body.

The one I posted on here? That one actually started out as a solid orange with black fins, now it is more and more blue. One that is now a solid light blue started as mostly orange with some blue. They are all individuals, some will have more black 'dusting', some will have much less.

What causes the black dusting? Thats what i was complaining about and no one knew what i was talking about lol. Its the discus you posted here, but i saw more black dust on another orange fish on your photobucket. I'm gunna go take a picture of mine so you can see it. I'll post it here in like 5 mins

It is mainly genetic. Good water quality and high quality food will help bring out the best colors in your fish.
The ram is blurry, but it shows the colors. I like the sterbais (I finally figured out where one of my bristlenose is hiding, since I never see either of them, find him in the pic).Owner: Aquarium Maintenance and Pet Care Company

fishguy, how do you get clear pictures of your fish?? I tried over 50 times and i couldnt get something good. I have a sony 10.1 mega pixels which works wonders in real life. But trying to capture a fish makes it really blurry, even when its not swimming! What do you do? do you change any of the setting? I tried turning off the lights of the room and turning them on. But still :(

I dont mean to jump in here, but have you tried using a tripod? I have a fairly good camera, but having the tripod makes all the difference in the pictures of my tank. I had a lot of luck using the tripod in a dark room, with the flash off, and just letting the tank light work for me.

I dont think i have a tripod. But, i turned off the lights and left only the aquarium lights on. I also turned off the flash. I'm going to use something like a chair or something to keep my hand stable. I'll update you in 2 mins!

I try and take them at a downward angle to the tank to reduce flash reflection, and just keep trying. Many come out VERY blurry. Most aren't worth looking at and get deleted. My digital camera is 4.0, my phone is 1.3.
