  1. Default Daily Feeding question

Some have said 1 time a day, others have said 2. The directions on the back of my omega one fish food say 2-3 times.

I have been feeding my fish only once a day what they can eat in several minutes.
I was just looking for some opinions on how many times a day you guys feed your fish and if I should change my feeding pattern.

  2. Default

I feed mine twice a day. About 1 hour after i put on the lights in the morning and about 1 hr. before i take them off at night. My lights are on for 12 hours.

I feed a very small amount 3 times most days - 2 times some days - and none at all at least one day a week.

I've been wondering about this too, but i was too lazy to post a thread about it lol. I heard one a week, and 5 times a day and everything in between. But, i feed my fish twice a day, when i wake up and before i sleep.

It depends on the fish. Some fish eat large meals every once in a while (large piscivores), others are constantly feeding (herbivores), many are somewhere in the middle. Large full grown piscivores can be fed only once or twice a week. Most community fish naturally forage throughout the day, so multiple feedings per day are ideal.

I am definitely going to start feeding twice a day. Maybe that is also some of the reason why my gourami is being so aggressive.
