mantis molted!
What a beauty he is now!
I can't post pics here atm but I have a vid on youtube under smaug1967 user name. The cool thing is,the vid right before the last vid was less then 4hrs aprt when he was brown like an old dog turd. He had a rough day today too,I moved his main rock and he wasn't getting along very well and I was truly worried for him as he was lying on his back just wiggling his back legs and curling into a ball. With more experiance I would have known that is common before they molt. He is gorgeous now, bluish green irridecent with no more dog turd look
he was 0nt eating for the past week either but today I bought 10 bumblebee snails so I assume once he hardens up a bit they will be toast.

If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I was too, until I found out how simple it really is to put one together. You get a good bit more for the $$ that way to start with, and unlike the ones from staples it can be upgraded later. I spent around $800 for my new toy last year. It has an AMD 3 core 3.0 GHz processor, 8 GB RAM, and the video card has an additional 512 MB RAM. Also has 2 640 GB hard drives, 2 DVDRW drives, Windows 7 home premium OS, and I can upgrade to a 4 core processor with this motherboard. My old Dell is still working, but it wasn't up to speed to play Starcraft 2, and there wasn't any way to upgrade the hardware to get it there.
As far as actually assembling the components a screwdriver was the main tool. Added to the fact that I can now work on it myself if necessary, rather than paying $50/hour for someone else to do simple repairs. I may even get around to installing Linux and make it a dual boot system if I ever have enough spare time.
