    birdies! no pictures are good without birds!

    * if anyone can identify the bird in the next two pictures ide love to know what it is, i have never seen it around here before and am having trouble finding a name



    the next few pictues are with a lense fitting i built to create super macro shots. (note the high amount of noise...blah stuck with a CCD sensor)

    figured out what the bird was i couldnt identify i check out some of my book and turns out its a blue bird. other than the short fat blue birds and the blue jays i havent ever heard of anything else being called a blue bird. must be a central PA thing haha

    bonus points if you already knew what it was though!

    There are a variety of blue birds. Yours is more properly called an Eastern Blue Bird.

    im surprised this is the first one ive seen. ive lived here my entire life and am always out and about in the woods/creeks around here and havent seen one before.

    sure is a beautiful bird!

    There's another blue colored bird called Indigo Bunting but they're fairly small birds, about the size of a nuthatch with an almost iridescent blue color.

    The Eastern Blue bird used to be plentiful around this area but in the last 20 years they have become rare. Too bad, they are something to behold. Very nice pictures KatzeSlaugen. Thats a great lens you have. The picture of the salt is awesome.
