Broke Down and Got Them
I went to the lfs to pick up some drift wood and see what they had. I had my cousins (16 and 13) with me, and they quite enjoyed themselves looking around. I saw they had the lophiobagrus cats I'd been wanting still around and looking healthy, so I broke down and got them. I figured by the time they were full grown if they were too large for the 10g I'd move them into the 30g which should be set up by then. I drip acclimated them for a few hours, then temp adjusted them in a bag and have let them rest. I redid the tank for them, added some slate and built a few caves. Immediately they dove and hid, so I'll try and get pictures once they relax and start coming out to explore.

They are adorable. Still hiding, but sticking their noses out occassionally. They have a very nice coloration, I'm excited to see them start to explore.

How may did you get, and how big are they now? Your ember tetras may be on the menu as they grow larger.
I picked up a 20 high at the CCA meeting yesterday, and upgraded the 10 my group of 6 P. typus had been living in. They've all been hanging out in the communal shelter (piece of slate propped up on a couple chunks of marble) since the move. The mass of Najas that filled the 10 is now a floating clump in the middle of the 20, so it will be a few weeks before they have plant cover near the bottom of the tank again. I'll be putting more rocks in shortly to provide more cover and options. They look close enough to full size to breed now, hopefuully I'll have fry before much longer. I've seen all 6 of them come out atg the same timr for pellets though, so none are holding eggs or fry yet.

I got 3 of them. If I see a tetra vanish I'll move them around. Hopefully by then the 30g will be up and I can move whatever needs to go where. These guys should feel pretty secure, they got a lot of plant cover on the surface from the vals and a lot of hiding places between the wood and slate, and got a lot of cover from the other plants.
