  1. Default which tank to house lion fish and/or eel

In in debate... I have all the equipment laying around to have another saltwater setup. however, I can't make up my mind to use the 75g normal size tank or a 75g hex. I'm wanting a dwarf lion fish and eel. Not sure which eel yet but not a snowflake for sure. Which tank you think would be best? Oh, I also have a great light for the hex but not the other tank. I have contemplated putting some extra live coral in that tank from my main display... not sure yet

Lions and morays don't need a lot of swimming room, so the hex should be fine. Depending on how tall it is though, it could be difficult to feed the eel ... not much gets by a lionfish!

Late reply here but it may help...

If you are going to keep an ell and a dwarf lion in the same tank, I doubt feeding the eel will be an issue. The food for the eel will be much too big for the lion to eat. We keep a snowflake in our 75g with a dwarf fuzzy lion with no issues. We have a blue ribbon eel in our 100g reef with no problem either.

I think you should focus on your eel selection whine deciding on the tank to use. Many eels will get too big for both your tanks. Also, with the hex tank, the eel will occupy most of the bottom of the tank so you will need to stack your rocks pretty high to give the lion a place to call home. I would keep the hex (and the good lights) for a different SW project.
