Not much of a up-date today. But I did get the stand finished. This past Friday night, my brother in law stopped by and we moved the stand in place along with the sump and tank. I started to plumb it Saturday morning but got pretty sick with a bad flue and had to stop. I haven’t done a bit of work on it since then. If I’m back to feeling normal by the weekend, I’ll finish plumbing it, complete a water test, and then put the rest of equipment in along with the stand doors and I’m ready for salt water.
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Lookin good bud, sorry to hear about the illness but hopefully you get well and back to work on this bad boy!
55g Long --> After 18mo of doing well the tank crashed during moving. Most likely cause: Flatworm Die-off... won't start another until after moving... Likely not until late 2013

Looks amazing Cliff! BTW, is that speaker on the floor there to amplify the sound of the sump?

I finally got a chance to get the plumbing done for the tank. I had a lot of difficulty making a stand pipe for the overflow. It’s still a little too noisy for my liking so I might order a custom one that can fit in that tiny little overflow space. The bracing above the corner overflow is really hard to work around so I’ll have to keep trying.

When I did my first FW test, I found a leak at the bulkhead flange for the drain line. Looks like when I screwed on the coupling to the flange, I loosened the tightening nut. I had to drain the tank, and with help from my brother-in-law, take the tank off the stand to tighten the flange. After the second test, all is leak free

I’m now making salt water to fill the tank. I’m using my RO unit but it doesn’t have a booster pump. Use it to make 160 gallons of water is a lot like watch paint dry. I think I might go the our SW LFS tomorrow and buy some RO water so it won’t take me all week
Tomorrow I’ll also be placing all the dry rock in the tank
