    Default My 120 Gallon Reef

I know this might be off to an early start to a tank journal, but I’m just really excited

Today I bought a 120 gallon tank that I will make into a reef tank.

I've been thinking about another tank so when I found this one, it just seamed right. Apparently someone ordered it from our SW LFS but when it arrived they did not want it anymore. I could not believe it was exactly what I was looking for. Because it was a cancelled order, I got it at a great price. The store owner even agreed to hold it until May when I will be able to work in my unheated garage and build a stand for it

I got a 120 gallon tank, 4’ X 2’ X 2’ with a built in corner overflow and the back panel is drilled for the return line. It’s a euro braced tank, and the back panel has a black acrylic sheet attached to it.

I'm planning to make this a (mostly) LPS reef tank with a moderate stocking of reef safe fish.

When I get the tank home, I’ll post a pick

Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

    Thanks everyone

I'm actually working on my stocking list right now

Lady Hobbs: I actually was thinking of that, until my wife saw the look on my face and asked the guy at the store to hold the tank for us

    She knows me really well

Congrats on the tank bud! I'm once again jealous haha can't wait to watch you churn out another great tank and great journal!
55g Long --> After 18mo of doing well the tank crashed during moving. Most likely cause: Flatworm Die-off... won't start another until after moving... Likely not until late 2013

20g Long --> currently concoting a build plan

Check out the journal to follow my 20g SW tank
