You really have gotten bit by the MTS huh? LOL!!
Why would you want a corn snake colony? Would you have room for something like that?
Google is your friend. Use it!!!

I think MTS is unavoidable whether you're keeping fish or reptiles...
I asked a friend of mine, who keeps and breeds corn snakes, and she said as long as there's no king or milk genes and they are the same size you can keep them in a colony. Mixed genders, and you're going to have baby hissers before long.
The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of the act

Very rarely if at all, do cornsnakes cannibalize each other. The problem does arise is that keeping the opposite sex together can lead to early breeding if the corns are not of breeding size. The result is being egg bound and it is just to much for a young female.Corns are bred in small plastic "shoeboxes"stacked on a rack with usually flexwatt heat tape attached to the back of the cabinet..

This is great info. One more thing I would like to add about the 'colony' idea...is that feeding becomes an issue. I personally have 15 Ball Pythons (w/ eggs on the way) and a Red Tail Boa. I house all snakes in separate tubs (as mentioned above) and keep a detailed feeding log so I am able to keep track of who has eaten and when. I am personally not a supporter of keeping multiple snakes together (other than for breeding purposes).
